I must admit that my admiration of John Singleton's work since his debut with Boyz N the Hood was not my primary reason for launching this site on January 6, 1999. Rather, it was to make a birthday gift for Mr. Singleton, whom I knew personally since 1996.

However, the personal connection does not mean that this site is a cyberspace exercise in brownnosing. The primary aim of this site is to take a look at his films with a critical eye, for he deserves nothing less than an honest opinion of his work. Since this site isn't the typical "fan" site per se--nor is it a typical "official" site, either, though this site is officially endorsed by Mr. Singleton--consider this an "official unofficial" site.
